Claude now shares what it remembers about you between conversational chat and its Cowork agent surface, ending repeated context — unless you explicitly opt out.
Anthropic has merged Claude's memory across its two primary surfaces, its conversational chat and its Cowork agent workspace, according to @FadyEid. The practical effect is the end of a friction point that anyone using Claude across contexts has felt: the tedium of re-establishing who you are, what you are working on, and what you told it yesterday every time you switch environments. Now a preference stated in chat can inform an agent's behavior in Cowork, and vice versa.
