Wallets, a payments layer, and an agent-first browser called Kitesurf suggest Cloudflare is positioning itself as the identity and money layer for autonomous AI — before most agents are trusted to spend anything.
While frontier labs argue about model capability, Cloudflare has spent August shipping the unglamorous infrastructure that autonomous agents will need to actually function on the web. As @zhubingge framed it, the fundamental problem for an AI agent entering the internet is deceptively simple: how does the other side know who it is, and how much it is allowed to spend? On August 4, Cloudflare answered with Wallets and cloudflare.pay, giving agents stable identity and payment capability.
