A Las Vegas defense attorney is accused of filing a brief citing a Supreme Court case that does not exist, the latest in a long line of AI-generated legal fabrications.

The pattern is by now depressingly familiar, but it keeps happening. @News3LV reported that a Las Vegas defense attorney is accused of using AI in a court brief that contains a citation to a nonexistent Supreme Court case — flagged, as these things usually are, by an opposing counsel who tried to look up the authority and found nothing there.
