Eight Marines defeated a DARPA AI detection system using tactics straight out of a Looney Tunes episode — and the story is a serious reminder that adversarial robustness in AI perception remains an unsolved problem.

A viral post from @CuriosityonX resurfaced a now-legendary DARPA test in which eight Marines were tasked with evading an AI-powered detection system. Their methods were absurdly low-tech: somersaulting, hiding under a cardboard box, and pretending to be a tree. All eight reportedly evaded detection.
