Codex Can Now Migrate Repos to GPT-5.5 Automatically

OpenAI's Codex agent can now update existing repositories to use GPT-5.5, removing friction from model migration for developers.

OpenAI announced that Codex can now handle the migration of existing codebases to GPT-5.5, as @OpenAIDevs shared. The feature lets developers point Codex at a repo and have it update API calls, prompt formats, and model references to target the latest GPT version.
