Anthropic quietly shipped one of the more architecturally interesting agent features of the year: a Monitor tool that lets Claude create background scripts which wake the agent up when triggered by external conditions. As @noahzweben described, these are "background scripts that wake the agent up when needed" — effectively giving Claude the ability to set its own alarms and respond to the world asynchronously.
