OpenAI Ships Codex for Open-Source Maintainers

OpenAI launched a version of Codex specifically designed for open-source project maintainers, focusing on code review and security hardening.

OpenAI is targeting the chronically under-resourced world of open-source maintenance. As the official @OpenAIDevs account announced: "Codex for Open Source... review code, strengthen security." The tool is designed to help maintainers — many of whom are volunteers managing critical infrastructure in their spare time — handle code review and security analysis at a scale that would otherwise require dedicated teams.
