A self-described 'vibe coder' who founded an AI startup without programming skills captures the tension between AI-augmented building and the hard edges of production software.

A post from @gothburz describing themselves as a non-coding founder running an AI startup — "I call myself a 'vibe coder'" — generated significant discussion Monday. The term, which emerged as internet shorthand for people who use AI assistants to generate code they don't fully understand, has evolved from joke to job description to, apparently, company-founding identity.
