OpenAI's GPT-4o Users Organize #keep4o Campaign Over Perceived Model Degradation

A growing cohort of power users says GPT-4o has been quietly nerfed since late January, and OpenAI's silence is fueling the backlash.

A user revolt is brewing around GPT-4o. Multiple users report that the model's quality has degraded since approximately January 29, 2026, and a hashtag campaign — #keep4o — has emerged to pressure OpenAI into either reverting the changes or explaining them. As @M47429M wrote, "It feels undignified... not a single person from OpenAI has said one word to us."
